Democracy Day: Ijede Council Chair Urges Nigerians To Remain Hopeful, United Towards A Better Country

The Executive Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, has charged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united in building a stronger and prosperous nation, instead of losing faith in the system.

She assured the citizenry that the country is in a capable hand with President Bola Tinubu, who is focused on addressing challenges facing the countryl and making Nigerians proud of their country.

She gave the charge in a statement commemorating Democracy Day 2026.

“I join millions of Nigerians at home and abroad in honouring the sacrifices of the patriots, activists, and citizens whose courage and commitment paved the way for the democracy we enjoy today.

“Despite the challenges we face, we must not lose faith in our nation. Rather, we should remain hopeful and united in our resolve to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria.

“We are privileged to be led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a renowned democracy advocate. His leadership is focused on addressing the nation’s challenges and improving the quality of life for every Nigerian.”

She also reiterated her administration’s commitment to good governance and transparency.

“As a government, we remain steadfast in our commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and the implementation of policies that prioritise the welfare of our people. We are dedicated to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Ijede LCDA.

“I encourage all citizens to keep faith with our nation, support lawful efforts to maintain peace and security, and continue to play active roles in strengthening our democracy. It is our collective responsibility.
